Energy recovery is the main feature that distinguishes fuel vehicles from electric vehicles. The driving process of the motor is the process of discharging the power battery and the power consumption of the vehicle, while the braking process of the motor and the deceleration braking process of the vehicle are the process of charging the power battery by the motor. Therefore, it is the key to energy-saving operation to recover braking energy well.

There are two kinds of electric vehicle energy recovery operations: braking energy recovery and electric slow energy recovery.

Braking energy recovery

During the braking process, the motor charges the battery and mechanical braking occurs at the same time. Mechanical braking mainly relies on brake pad friction and tire friction to brake the vehicle, which will produce heat dissipation.

The shorter the braking time, the shorter the working time of the motor, the less energy recovery, and the greater the heat dissipation loss. Under the condition of ensuring safety, try to avoid sudden braking and sudden deceleration, and light braking can maximize the recharge of electricity.

When ordinary vehicles are running in urban areas, the braking energy dissipation accounts for 40%~50% of the total driving energy, and the braking energy dissipation is higher in short distance. Effectively controlling the braking energy recovery can generally extend the driving time of vehicles by 15%~20%.

Electric slow energy recovery

The electric retarder is similar to the liquid retarder of a fuel vehicle. It mainly uses the motor to reverse drag to convert the power or potential energy into electric energy, and then stores it in the battery (internal energy). There are two forms of electric retarder energy recovery, namely, the handle control and the cruise button control according to different vehicle types.

The operating lever for multi-stage energy recovery is shown in Figure 1, and the energy recovery level of the instrument is shown in Figure 2, which currently shows level 1. Only when the vehicle is in the Ready state and the speed is greater than 5km/h can the grade be adjusted. The default grade of taxi energy recovery depends on the current position of the fender.

Push the lever upward, and the energy recovery level will be improved, with the highest level being 5; pull the lever downward, and the energy recovery level will be reduced, with the lowest level being 0.

Cruise button control energy recovery

The SET+/- function button on the right side of the steering wheel is shown in Figure 1, and the energy recovery level of the instrument is shown in Figure 2. At present, energy recovery level 2 is displayed.

When the vehicle is in the Ready state and the cruise control function is not turned on (there are no gray and green icons for cruise control), the level can only be adjusted when the vehicle speed is above 5Km/h, and the default level of taxi energy recovery is level 2.

When braking is not needed in taxiing conditions, the cruise can be slowed down to level 0 by level modulation, and a longer taxiing mileage can be obtained.

Pull up the silver wheel (SET+) to increase the intensity level of energy recovery, and the highest level is 9, at which time the energy recovery is the largest.

Pulling down the silver wheel (SET-) can reduce the intensity level of energy recovery. The lowest level is 0, and there is no energy recovery at this time. After stepping on the accelerator or restarting the vehicle, the energy recovery level will jump to the default level 2.
